Ranking as a new modality for AI

Own your algorithm. Edit it. Share it. Use it anywhere.

Instead of chatting with AI, you rank. Instead of chats, you have algorithms. TierListGPT lets you build a portable preference algorithm from tier lists and use it across any platform.

The problem

Algorithms are opaque. Platforms like YouTube and TikTok trap you in content rabbit holes with an algorithm you can't see, can't edit, and can't move across sites.

Chatting to communicate with AI can be inaccessible. Explaining your preferences in words — or mastering prompts — is overwhelming, and sometimes you don't even know why you like one thing over another.

How it works

01

Pick items to rank \u2014 videos, shirts, gyms, AI outputs \u2014 on a tier list. Optionally import data from TikTok favorites, ChatGPT conversations, or anywhere else.

02

Rank them S tier to F tier. An algorithm based on your preferences gets built, and you get better items to rank each round.

03

Press Use Algorithm to apply your preferences to any website or app. Share it, edit it, download it, import someone else's, or combine two algorithms together.

Use cases

Content

Build a portable algorithm from your TikTok data or from scratch. Take it to YouTube and get a personalized playlist. Share your algorithm with friends, import theirs, or use a creator's algorithm from their story.

Shopping

Figure out your style by ranking different shirts. Press Use Algorithm to get sent to a site selling your favorite style, or modify Amazon to only show products you'd actually buy.

Gaming and streaming

Streamers build tier lists live with their audience. Communities share, fork, or create algorithms together. Speedrunners race to auto-generate algorithm names from the same seed items.

ChatGPT to action

Have a chat about which gym to join that ends without a recommendation? Import the conversation, rank the options on a tier list, and let the algorithm book you a membership.

Improving AI agents

Rank outputs from an agent — reports, summaries, anything. The algorithm figures out what you prefer without you having to say it explicitly, then improves the agent's prompt to match.

Developers

A universal preference API. Input any data, let users rank it, get structured preferences out. Build anything into the Use Algorithm button — TierListGPT is the interface, your app is the action.

Why ranking

Powerful AI is limited if it's inaccessible. Not everyone can write a good prompt, and sometimes your preferences aren't something you can put into words. Tier lists are intuitive, social, and familiar. Ranking is a new modality for communicating with AI — one that doesn't require you to explain yourself, just to choose.
